Basketball dog

happy halloween!!! or at least that's what we were all saying a couple of days ago. well reina is too big to wear doggy costumes so i went and bought her a human costume. . . she went as a basketball player. isnt she the cutest basketball player you have ever seen??? i think so. she is sporting a red white and blue jersy and wearing a pretty matching bow around her neck. she hit nothing but net on most of her shots. lol. well she would have im sure if she would have attempted any shots. well we didnt get to go trick or treating because we could only take the cone off of her head long enough to put the costume on and take some pictures. and just look at her cute little behind. that shot was worth everything. its so cute how her tail sticks out of her shorts . i just love her and she is such a good sport with what i put her through. we didnt keep her in her costume for long because i wanted to get her cone back on. she's only got a week left with it on now and her eye is doing great.

Post surgery for reina. . .

this was the day reina had her surgery. we brought her home and she wandered around the yard for a bit and then layed down to rest for a bit.

the poor little girl, she had to come home sporting a brand new "BONNETT" also known as a cone. she hated it and it took her forever to get use to, but it is a must have so that she doesnt pull out those loosely stitched stitches.

and look at how big it was, you cant even see the tip of her nose. she couldnt get to her water in her dish or her food to eat it. so my mom made and executive decision and cut it down a bit. she is now able to drink and eat just fine but still cant get to her eye

look at my dad holding her hand. you cant tell he loves her at all. he says he doesnt really care for animals too much but i know deep down inside he would be sad with out reina. lol. he loves her so much. he talks to her and plays with her and just adores her, but shhhh you didnt hear that from me.

and then it was night time. she likes to sleep with her head on the pillow. i swear she doesnt know she is a dog. and she is such a bed hog too. but she was so comfortable and slept most of the night through just fine. she looked so peaceful. she has to leave the "bonnett" on until monday november 10th. and then she goes in to get the stiches removed and the bonnet taken off. we have made it through a week and only got one more to go. i think she can do it. im so proud of her for putting up with it this long.

FIREPIT FUN!!!

okay so a couple of weeks ago i bought a firepit. for anyone thinking about doing this i would say DO IT!!! i love mine. its so relaxing and i have roasted hotdogs and marshmallows over it a couple different times now. there is a funny story behind this tho, and that is: i ripped out a couple sets of wood shelving units out of my garage a while back but i left all the nails in. well when i was sawing them up my friend amanda (who is the one in the pic besides me) kept tellin me i was gonna step on a nail. i didnt believe her and i kept tellin her i knew what i was doing. well then came that inevitable time when i did step on a nail. o my holy hell did it hurt. but i kept my cool and acted like nothin happened, cuz i didnt want her to know what had happened because then that would mean she was correct. but she saw right through me and asked me if i had stepped on a nail. and of course i denied it at first and then i figured i needed to take my shoe off and look at the battle wound and the only way for me to do that with out being suspected was to tell her the truth . so i did. it wasnt too bad so after my mom came over to look at it, cuz she is a nurse, we went back to sittin around the fire and enjoying ourselves. so ya thats the funny story about the firepit.
